ABOUT US

C.I Colombia Paradise is a company that specializes in the production and export of exotic fruits. We are a global leader in the export of physalis. In addition, we export passion fruit, granadilla, avocado and tamarillo. The company was founded in 2010. We started with the export of physalis and later on extended our product range with passion fruit, granadilla and tamarillo. Avocados are our latest product addition. Over the years our clients have come to know us for the high quality of our fruit and the company has grown to employ around 400 people in our warehouse and at the farms.

HOW DO WE WORK?

The quality of our fruit has the highest priority. Our fruit comes from our own plantations as well as from local growers in different regions of Colombia. We work together with the growers to achieve good agricultural practices and minimize the use of pesticides in order to ensure safe and high quality fruit, while protecting the environment and the welfare of the growers. After the fruit is harvested, we transport it to our packing plant, where the fruit is selected and packed. At our packing plant we aim to create a safe and positive working environment. Our packing facility and farms have been certified by GLOBAL G.A.P. GRASP, Rainforest Alliance and SMETA.

OUR SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

At C.I. Colombia Paradise our goal is to build a socially and environmentally responsible business. Most of the people that work for us at the warehouse to select and pack our fruit are women. Many of them are the main breadwinner of the family. This helps to increase the empowerment of women and to ensure that these families have a stable income to take care of themselves and their children. We also support the education of the children in the community through public-private partnerships. For example, the company partly rebuilt and greatly improved the primary school building in Subia and we have set up cultural activities for the children. In terms of our environmental responsibility we aim to minimize the environmental impact in all our productive operations. To this end we are trying to reduce the amount of plastic in our packaging by using paper (made out of sugarcane) for our fruit boxes.
